I guess my 2012 started on a very bad note. I came late for breakfast and totally left a bad taste. Nothing about today is short of being an epic fail. I just wish this won’t mirror the rest of the year, no I can’t bear the joke to be on me.

The trip shaped up to be a fluke at first, Nikky tricked us into thinking we are discussing business plans until the bubble burst and it became clear that we are off to Beijing,China for a much awaited company vacation. The fluke was we have to gear up for winter and none of us have outfits suited for below zero climate,thus the need for shopping and borrowing cash and winter gear where available.Luggage is another deal since my bags are good only for tropical countries that does not require me to pack bulky coats, jackets, sweats, thermalwear,bonnets and scarves; needless to say, I had to buy one. Which is okay cuz it served me well.

There’s a reason Chinese folks are healthy, for one, they keep active. One night while walking back to our hotel, we passed by the church yard where young and old chinese locals gather to dance. Exhausted from checking out bargains around the malls, the crazy and adventure-seeking instincts we had kicked in. We stepped into the platform and struggled on our feet to follow the steps. A fabulous-looking elderly with the blackest hair I’ve ever seen was kind enough to lead us through. I,with a long enduring waterloo in dancing did not live through, but Diane saw through it. As seen in the video, jay seems to have learned the steps and dancing to the beat, the slow beat, the faster tempo was quite a feat. I eventually learned the steps and was doing it the following day at the hotel driveway. This is one experience in Beijing I enjoyed the most aside from biking in the old Hu Tong Village.

I don’t think I ever had a word with these guys in high school and yet here I am hanging out jammin’ and singing along with them. I miss shenanigans like this when we generate our own music. These are one of those nights when I think Victoria truly was a melting pot for musical talent. Almost everyone knows to play an instrument and everyone sings. We can trash talk d school all we want but we can’t deny the kind of environment it has afforded us.

The Monstrosity that was Halloween 2011

For about 4 years now,I have made it a point to attend Halloween costume parties.That was since I realized trick or treating was no longer for me. Last year, I was an afro girl with orange hair, the year before that at Mag:Net I was a rocker and the year before at the Cream ball, I sported a masquerada mask.this year I came as an overfed dementor from harry potter with a costume I dug up from the office stockroom.

I’d drag my sabi work family down to these parties each year,this year they were a no show but a new workmate came down to party and so did my bestfriend angela. while we were gettin’ ready for the party,I was certain we were gonna be hailed by makati avenue cops cuz of what angela decided to come as. Luckily, the closest thing to a cop we got close to was a 6 foot 5 french gay guy in a security guard uniform. And the biggest hassle were a couple of english guys who caught up with us while smoking outside the club.the fryers were in attendance, save for swissy,art and ces. My fave so far was toti’s Homer Simpson get up, boy am I glad cyril did not come as the blood-filled sanitary napkin or worse than that. Fairies,vegetables,dolls, monsters,wizards,devils,angels,yakuzas,cadavers and things dancing blissfully to great music made it look like all was right in the world.

It seems everytime I have a new toy,I tend to have the energy to clean my place up. Tonight,after spending a good 3 hours at UCC downloading Blackberry apps and being eaten alive trying to activate BBM,I ran to pick up my groceries and headed home.

My balcony is a mess from the last storm and seemed to be begging for some tidying.it’s also a shame to look at opposite my next door neighbor’s spotless and empty as can be balcony.before I knew it, I have two full bags of trash and scrubbing the floor clean. I kept dropping things and it rattled my neighbor.He came out rubbing his dead tired eyes, he mumbled some words, I barely heard him. All I know was he told me off and kinda said,just continue tomorrow. I was puzzled, I checked my time,it was already 2am. Only then did I understand why he took d effort to keep me from doing my stuff.but I was almost done so I did not stop.
